A national deputy and agricultural producer will allocate his diet to finance entrepreneurs
The national deputy (UCR), agricultural producer and former mayor (2019-2023) of Jesús María, Luis Picatlaunched a Support Program for Cordoban Entrepreneurs who have projects in the incubation phase and will donate their entire salary to that end.
Its objectives, as detailed, are to give “a push” to projects that provide individual and regional value; highlight the advantages of the culture of work and effort; encourage the private sector to join the proposal, either through training and/or mentoring, or by providing a monetary incentive.

“I am going to allocate one hundred percent of my deputy’s allowance for its initial financing, and then add companies that want to collaborate with this initiative,” said Picat. The program will have four calls per year and in each of them the accumulated amount corresponding to three months of diet will be delivered.
“All of us who undertake things need a push, advice and an economic boost, and the best destination for these funds is production,” said Picat.
The deputy has a degree in Computer Science, with a master’s degree in Business, he was director of Sanitation, secretary of Public Services and mayor of Jesús María and president of the Rural Society of said town.

Twenty-one years ago, Picat was dedicated to agricultural production on rented fields but decided to make a change and turned to an integrated business model with added value, transforming grains. Thus, he bet on poultry farms and together with other partners they built the Alto Grande poultry farm. He then ventured into the pork industry and became the owner of Frigorífico Qualitá, a company dedicated to the slaughter, trimming and distribution of pork. He also partnered with La Quimera, a firm that owns pig farms with a full-cycle pig production approach that slaughters and butchers its own and third-party production and makes sausages under its brand. In addition, they installed the first biodigester that transforms effluents into energy to cover up to 75% of the farm’s electrical consumption. And with the substrate from gas generation, they make fertilizer to nourish the corn.

“I am convinced that entrepreneurship is a fundamental leg of the productive engine of our country, especially in Córdoba, and from there numerous jobs are created,” said Picat when announcing this program for entrepreneurs.
As an example of the scope of this type of projects, the legislator presented attached the results of support programs for entrepreneurship carried out during his administration as mayor of Jesús María.

The bases and conditions of the call will be announced in the coming days.
