Guillermo Francos receives Cornejo this Friday: transfer of national works to Mendoza and a new political approach

The Government continues to negotiate with the governors the transfer of public works projects to their districts. At a time when the ruling party is betting on a definitive sanction of the Bases law, the person in charge of carrying out these agreements is the new Chief of Staff, Guillermo Francos, who this Friday will receive the Mendoza Alfredo Cornejo.

In the week in which he was formalized as replacement for Nicolas Possethe coordinating minister decided to change the management profile of his predecessor and lead political negotiations. This attitude also contrasts notably with that adopted by Javier Milei In his last public appearances, although he did not mention the provincial leaders, he harshly attacked the opposition for the half-sanction of retirement mobility and the delays regarding the approval of the jibarized Omnibus law.

It is in this context that Francos last Monday received the leaders of Jujuy, Entre Ríos and Chaco with whom he signed agreements to transfer some 80 projects to their jurisdictions. Last Wednesday, meanwhile, he did the same with the governors of Chubut, Neuquén and Córdoba; In the latter case he analyzed the works map and undertook to study the situation in the Mediterranean province.

This Thursday, meanwhile, the former Minister of the Interior received the man from Tucumán Osvaldo Jaldowith whom he signed two framework agreements that contemplate the transfer to the northern province of various works that until now were in charge of the national government.

The round of negotiations comes to address the claim of the jurisdictions that, due to the paralysis of undertakings by decision of the Executive, as a result of the fiscal austerity policy, need to finish works started during Kirchnerism and, at the same time, boost a local economy. afflicted by the current recession.

This Friday at 1:30 p.m., meanwhile, Franco will receive Cornejo from Mendoza. He will be accompanied by the Secretary of Public Works, Luis Giovine. The radical is part of the group of leaders of Together for Change that has shown dialogue with the Executive despite the criticism leveled in the past by the President.

Now he aspires to sign an agreement similar to those signed by Rogelio Frigerio (Entre Ríos) and “Nacho” Torres (Chubut), for example, to try to reactivate projects stopped since the end of last year.

In Mendoza territory, meanwhile, there are dozens of projects promoted by the Nation that during the previous administration were being developed “slowly.” The thing is that the Kirchner government privileged the promotion of small works in municipalities of that province that are governed by Peronism.

In Casa Rosada they praise the political dialogue with the governors and assure that they will try to advance similar agreements with the 24 local leaders. There are almost 865 projects distributed throughout the country. But they slip that The federal state could only continue those ventures that have international financing. The goal of zero deficit, once again, enters the picture.
