On the occasion of the ceremony highlighting her, the actress wore a piece from the house of Chanel, embroidered with 14,250 pearls and 28,000 pale pink sequins, as revealed by our colleagues at Madame Figaro.
And it is for them that Michelle Williams decided to open up. Both about her relationship with fashion, the costumes of her characters and her life in general. “I love working very closely with costume designers. I have had the immense privilege of collaborating with a costume designer, Melissa Toth, on six different projects. We can spend the day together focusing on details and running around town trying to find special accessories for the character,” she confides, very seriously.

So, wear This splendid dress to receive her award was a real honor for Michelle Williams. “As always, with immense gratitude and assistance from my dear friend and stylist of nearly twenty years, Kate Young” she says, gratefully. And for the actress, there is nothing more inspiring than seeing women in their daily lives moving around in their clothes: “I am inspired by the women I see on the street going to work, with or without children. By how they navigate that first day before the morning has even started. I love seeing women on the commute or on foot. Preparing for their destinations and finding strength and comfort in how they choose to go out dressed that day.”
His sources of inspiration? His children!
And like all mothers, Michelle Williams was influenced by her children: “I would say my kids tend to define my style. But I like to think about how they will remember me. I wonder if a photograph of us together makes the outfit I’m wearing more special,” reveals this icon of international fashion and cinema. So I keep everything for them because I tell myself that it could mean something one day. More than I could imagine today.”
