They found the body of a woman inside a 5-meter python

The head of the Kalempang village, Suardi Rosi, told the Indonesian media that the victim, Farida, was found inside the snake on Friday, after a day of searching since it disappeared.

The reticulated python (‘Malayophython reticulatus), is considered the longest snake in the world, reaching up to 8 meters long and 250 kilograms and usually suffocates its victims with its body before swallowing them whole.

The python feeds mainly on rodents, fish and other reptiles, although larger specimens also hunt monkeys, deer, wild boars and even leopards.

Although not common, some pythons can attack and swallow an adult man or woman, as has happened on some occasions in Indonesia.
